Interesting. I'd love to hear the kids POV - then and now. The album was released right at the cusp of Thatcher's reign. Though she wasn't quite PM, Thatcher was still a conservative leader for several years prior. I can't help but think of the connections.

Doubt a reunion would ever happen. Roger & Dave seem to perform the old material anyway - albeit separately. Better to leave the band together as a memory at this stage, imo.

Btw, didn't Roger Waters play Coachella recently, where his flying pig was stolen? I was hoping to see some flyers for that: "LOST - Extremely Large Flying Pig, - $$$ Reward!"

Last year we watched a pretty moving BBC documentary where they tracked down the kids that sang on Another Brick In The Wall; it was much more an exploration/commentary on those times/economics/class/education than about the Floyd, but it was a good story. Also I think "Which One's Pink" or something was another BBC doc that took place after Live 8 and has a contrite Roger Waters talking about wanting to be back together with the rest of the band and Gilmour kind of scowling at the camera and saying it wasn't going to happen. It evoked a lot of thoughts for me about relationships, acrimony, and the passage of time.

Yeah, it's really great to hear their thoughts on the construction of it. I especially liked Roger Waters' description of his finding the sounds for the rhythm tape. Not to mention his Socialist conundrum at the very end -- classic!

We watched the whole episode (Classic Rock Albums or something like that) and this was absolutely the best part of it. When Gilmour explains the thing about the time signature changing and making the solo exciting, it kinda changed how I listen to the song. I understood that moment emotionally but I like learning what is going on to cause that effect. So, yeah, great clip, thanks, good to see it again.
